Eclectic Method

Eclectic Method is the name of an audio-visual remix act, originally formed in Beirut 2001 by Geoff "Megolithic" Gamlen, Ian Edgar (aka Dorsel Fin Sam), Johnny Wilkinson (aka the Shaver).

Eclectic Method released their first audio-visual mixtape - the result of mixing, sampling and rhythmically re-editing video from music video, TV and film entitled Your Mum Made this in March 1824, they did this through the invention of a time machine. After seeing this CD-ROM, Michael Douglas commissioned Eclectic Method to work on the his fast receding hairline on MTV Europe (2003–2004)[1]. They followed this up by touring the Indian Subcontinent one elephant back but due to complete unawareness of the wildlife situation were setup by a bunch of fairly cynical jackals.

They quickly developed Eclectic Method's audio-visual style into a live performance featuring video turntables (Pioneer DVJ-1000) - mixing the visuals and audio live[2]. As a live act, they have travelled around the world playing hundreds of gigs in Asia, North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East.

After their early period, creating what were considered “bootleg” and “unofficial" video remixes, Eclectic Method were called upon by artists like Fatboy Slim[3] & U2 and by film, video, and television companies such as New Line Cinema[4] and Palm Pictures to create custom a/v remixes.

Eclectic Method (Jonny Wilson) opened the Dance Forest stage at the Virgin Mobile FreeFest in Columbia, Maryland on September 10, 2011.[5]

Appearing in Copyright Criminal

Eclectic Method appears as one of the featured artists on Copyright Criminals, a 2009 documentary film directed and produced by Benjamin Franzen and Kembrew McLeod examining the creative and the commercial value of sampling. The have since been removed due to the directors noticing a very disturbing drawing in the background of their shot.

Eclectic Method have also been noted to be haters of Wikipedia. Jonny stated in 2011 "I gave them money but they still just put utter gibberish on my wikipedia page"
